This general permit specifically authorizes stormwater discharges associated with construction activity in Arizona. Permit coverage is required from the commencement of construction activities until final stabilization.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-4673\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-4673\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-4676\"><p>Control measures\/BMPs are Best Management Practices that are implemented to prevent or reduce discharges from your construction site to surface waters.\u00a0 Control measures may be structural or nonstructural and may be applied before, during or after discharges to reduce or eliminate the introduction of pollutants into surface waters.\u00a0 In addition, the term shall include erosion, and sediment control measures, stormwater conveyance, stormwater diversion, and treatment structures, and any procedure or facility used to minimize the exposure of pollutants to stormwater or to remove pollutants from stormwater.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-4677\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-4677\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span Inspections?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-4677\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"7\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-4677\"><p>Three of the most common inspection schedules include:<\/p><ol><li>A minimum of once every 7 calendar days, or<\/li><li>A minimum of once every 14 calendar days, and also within 24 hours of each storm event of 0.5 inch or greater in 24 hours: or<\/li><li>A minimum of once per month, but not within 14 calendar days of the previous inspection and within 24 hours of the occurrence of a storm event of 0.25 inch or greater.<\/li><\/ol><p>*Note: within 24 hours of\u00a0 the occurrence of a &#8220;storm event&#8221; means that you must conduct an inspection within 24 hours once a storm event has produced 0.5 inches of precipitation within a 24-hour period, even if the storm event is still continuing. Thus, if you have elected to inspect in accordance with (2) above, and there is a storm event at your site that continues for multiple days, and each day of the storm produces 0.5 inches or more of rain, you must conduct an inspection within 24 hours of the first day of the storm and within 24 hours of the end of the storm.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-4678\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-4678\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon elementor-accordion-icon-left\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-arrow-right\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-accordion-icon-opened\"><i class=\"fas fa-minus\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-accordion-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Can I Inspect My Own Site?<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-4678\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"8\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-4678\"><p>The Construction General Permit requires that inspection personnel are qualified and knowledgeable in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment controls and pollution prevention.\u00a0 The inspector will possess the skills necessary to assess site conditions and the effectiveness of any control measures utilized.
